The model captures real-time yield results from commercial seed company trial results during the fall harvest season. Yields from seed plot trials are then compared to historical seed plot trials (2020–2024) in the same region and used as a predictor for average county yields. It’s important to note these results are not fully representative of every acre or growing condition, but they provide valuable directional insights into harvest outcomes.

Soybean Yields Track Firmer in First Harvest Read

Quantum Hedging’s first Harvest Yield Analytics (HYA) read on soybeans shows a broadly firmer tone versus 2024, with our seed-plot composite running +3.8 bushels per acre higher year over year. Coverage already spans 43% of U.S. soybean counties, offering an early and meaningful signal that supports USDA’s September uplift to 53.5 bu/ac. Regional strength is concentrated in the Eastern Corn Belt and Ohio Valley — led by Ohio (+7.9) and Indiana (+5.2) — while the Upper Midwest adds momentum with Minnesota (+8.1), Nebraska (+6.2), and South Dakota (+6.0). Early Southern results are equally constructive, with Arkansas (86 bu/ac) and Mississippi (83 bu/ac) reinforcing a strong start to the 2025 harvest season.
