Corn Remains a Coin Flip, Soybeans Hold Bullish Bias — QH Forecast Update (Oct 29)

We’re pleased to share this week’s Corn and Soybean Forecasts* — the latest update in the Quantum Hedging (QH) Product, featuring both Flat Price and Spread Forecasts as markets transition out of harvest.

This week’s results show a balanced tone in corn and continued bullish strength in soybeans, with spreads beginning to soften after several weeks of strong moves.

Corn Outlook

Corn remains a “coin flip” after recent gains. While harvest pressure is easing and history suggests a slight upward drift this time of year, fund positioning and broader grain weakness continue to limit directional conviction. As Cy Monley noted, the next move will hinge on whether funds return as buyers or farmers increase sales into rallies.

Soybean Outlook

Soybeans continue to outperform. The QH model registered an 81% bullish probability around mid-October — a call that preceded the recent rally. Both Kevin McNew and Cy Monley see technical and structural factors (including potential Chinese purchases and macro tailwinds like crude and currency strength) supporting the uptrend through early November.

Spread Forecasts

Spread dynamics are shifting. Corn spreads have flattened to neutral, while soybean spreads show a mild bearish turn following last week’s surge. McNew noted this could indicate a potential near-term high, even as the flat-price bias remains positive.

This week’s forecast continues Quantum Hedging’s commitment to data-driven clarity, helping commercial and institutional clients interpret price behavior, spreads, and relative-value signals through the harvest transition.
