Harvest Yield Analytics (Corn) – 10/17/25

Harvest Yield Analytics (HYA)

The model captures real-time yield results from commercial seed company trial results during the fall harvest season. Yields from seed plot trials are then compared to historical seed plot trials (2020–2024) in the same region and used as a predictor for average county yields. It’s important to note these results are not fully representative of every acre or growing condition, but they provide valuable directional insights into harvest outcomes.

HWill Corn Yields Live Up to USDA’s Magic Number?

With over 62% of corn counties now reporting, the HYA data show a national composite modestly above last year, but the path to USDA’s 186.7 bu/ac estimate remains uneven. The maps and charts reveal a sharp regional split — strong gains in the Northern Plains and Ohio Valley contrast with notable weakness across Iowa, Illinois, and Kansas. As more harvest data flows in, national stability appears to be firming, yet the western Corn Belt’s deficits continue to cap upside, leaving the USDA target plausible but far from guaranteed.
